Hasu Ghosh

Current position and/or anything you’d like to share about yourself: Hasu is a Senior Policy Analyst at Health Canada’s Departmental Research and Ethics Policy Bureau and a part-time adjunct faculty member in public health/ health administration. After completing her Ph.D. in Population Health (with concurrent Tier-II diploma in Health Services and Policy Research), she completed two successive CIHR-funded postdoctoral fellowships. With experience as a lead researcher, consultant, advisor, and analyst, Hasu has worked with federal departments, university research networks, and NGOs. In her current position, Hasu is the departmental representative for the federal Indigenous-STEM Cluster, provides evidence-based science advice, and leads the secretariat for departmental science committees for senior management.


Hodan Mohamed

Thesis Title: “Either You Are the Shark or the Seal”: Understanding Violence Among Somali Canadian Male Youth – A Population Health Perspective

Year: 2008

Hodan is a public health policy analyst for the government of Canada. She has also worked on several international development initiatives in the Horn of Africa, focusing on gender, migration, political inclusion, and public sector reform. Hodan is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal for service to Canadians.
